Vancouver Botanical Art Workshop | Learn to Create Pressed Flower Art, July 20

Join Lauren, founder of Claxton Grove, Sunday July 20th and learn how to create your own pressed flower art piece. 

So you've pressed your flowers and they look great (yay!)... but what do you do with them now? 

Well, this is the workshop for you!

Lauren will discuss a variety of ideas and projects you can do with your pressed flowers, from making gifts, to home decor, to preserving memories. She will then guide you through different botanical art techniques, including composition considerations and which materials to use to achieve the best results. As an added bonus, you'll also learn different colour correcting and colour-altering methods for pressed flowers. 

After a short talk and discussion, you'll have a chance to dive in and create some pieces of your own! Lauren will have a variety of materials on hand for you to select and create 2 different pieces from the following; 5x7 art piece, greeting card, pack of 4 gift tags, or a bookmark. 

No experience (or artistic ability) is required - everyone is welcome! This is your chance to play, have fun, and get creative. 

You're welcome to bring flowers you've already pressed or purchase additional materials on the day. Full details will be sent to participants ahead of the workshop. 

Details:

Date: the workshop will take place on Sunday, July 20, 2025. 2:00pm - 4:00pm 

Location: The Garden Strathcona Cafe (868 E Hastings Street, Vancouver, BC) 

We'll have the entire top floor to ourselves! Arrive a few minutes early if you'd like to grab a drink or treat from the cafe downstairs to enjoy during the workshop. It's such a pretty cafe and the perfect spot for a botanical themed workshop. You can take a peek at their website HERE

Each participant will receive the following:
🌼 A selection of pressed flowers to create your pieces 
🌼 A short handout with tips and techniques
🌼 Your choice of 2 "art blanks" to create your work

Additional Notes:

• This workshop is only available for those 16yrs+ 
• Unfortunately, the venue I was able to book isn't wheelchair accessible. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to attend the workshop. Sorry about that.
